The Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library was founded in 1937 as the "Friends of the NRPL Committee" with the suffragist Carrie Chapman Catt as a charter member. It has been through several iterations, with the current Friends forming in 1977 with the mission to support quality children and adult programming, as well as assist the Library by contributing to various projects and improving service to the community.
We raise money by selling donated books and media at lobby Book Store which is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and at our larger Big Book Sales.
